This course was really interesting! I loved it. The teacher was amazing and very engaging. And it was my first time doing peer-graded assignments, i was scared but i did it and i'm so proud of myself.

Its a must to do course for those who want to change the way they live their lives. This course gives great insight about human nature and how we can improve the quality of our daily living experience by just making simple changes in the way we think. The evidence of the change can be noted objectively by comparing the pre and post course happiness scores; which in itself is a great motivation to continue with the newly learnt habits.

With America experiencing such tumultuous times, this class really helped me find the silver lining and adjust my thinking around what brings me happiness. I plan to continue to implement these practices and share with my friends and loved ones. I'm very grateful that this course was offered free of cost because I truly believe everyone should be able to access this material. Thank you so much to Professor Santos and Yale University!

An ideal course during a pandemic. I have been wanting to take some courses on well-being and wellness for awhile. I am HAPPY to have discovered Coursera and this class with Dr. Laurie Santos. She is engaging, encouraging and authentic which makes the learning much more enjoyable. I learned some great tools and I'm inspired by the research and the science behind each practice which lead to happiness. It's what the world needs now!

I truly enjoyed this course because it helped put things into perspective and gave explanations and awareness to why happiness can be elusive. It was very thought provoking and informative. After taking the course, I feel like I have tools to help me stay on track to making every day count and to remember to savor the moments, connect with people I care about, exercise my body, calm my mind, and feed my soul. I enjoyed this course very much so and Professor Laurie Santos is great to come up with her assistants, practice, and lectures-videos are easy to understand. I am just grateful the fact I found out about this course and able to take out general information and mainly I gained the Meditation skill over the course which improves me daily, not wonder my mind. I have a much better focus and happiness now.

I think the part that made learning about this topic more interesting was choosing and building good habits as a way to ensure you have good well-being, the older you get. We got to choose between exercise, sleep, meditation, deep breathing, gratitude letter, and more. We also got to review what the experience was like at the end and if our scores for happiness increased or decreased as a result of the activity or activities chosen.

In the first place I want to say thank you for this course. It's life changing. I found this course to be a difficult time in my life. I didn't see meaning in my life, was very frustrated and lost. My psychologist diagnosed depression. This course was something that filled in the blanks in my soul. When I saw that in the last three weeks we should have practiced rewirements, I said to myself that this is the time for my challenge.

Loved this course. It builds in time to practice strategies and helps you build a repertoire of strategies that can be used in isolation or in tandem to help cope with the everyday stresses as well as major life-altering events. Loved it from beginning to end and am still reaping the benefits as well as keeping up with the Podcast and the facebook page. I truly am happier for having taken this course - everyone should take it! :D

This course changed my view of what happiness is. I am coming away with so many tools to implement into my daily routine. I am a happier person having taken this course and I'm excited to continue using what i have learned from The Science of Well-Being. I have recommended this course to so many. This course couldn't have come at a better time. Learning positive psychology during such a wild worldwide event surrounded by a negative news cycle has been the lifeline I didn't know I needed. I'll be taking these tools forward with me until the end of time and am so grateful that I will be able to revisit the material to keep it fresh. Thank you Yale and Dr. Santos for building this very succinct and easy to follow curriculum.

I loved the course, and your podcast too, " The Happiness Lab" and "The Science of Well-Being" have changed my life and how i relate to experience in a more constructive way. My negativity, stress, self hatred, anxiety and even rudeness to others have come to a more manageable state in which i know i can eliminate, or at least, minimize these traits of my life. As preparation for these tasks, Professor Laurie Santos reveals misconceptions about happiness, annoying features of the mind that lead us to think the way we do, and the research that can help us change. Excellent; 2 main benefits, for me:
1) Even if many of the learnings were intuitive, adding scientific rigor adds a valuable additional perspective that basic things are really good for our health!
2) You can never be reminded enough of these healthy habits. Even if you already know it all, I find myself in an improved mood just going through the course -- it has an impact on how likely I am to hold myself to these habits.

This course was awesome! Laurie is an amazing professor and the content just keeps you interested and coming back every week. By the end of the class my scores had increased and I feel like I have a better understanding of what really does make me happy. I'm not a school educator but I share this information with everyone I know and would love to use it a study group like some do for a book club. Thank you for sharing this class!

The Science of Well-Being is an excellent class with a well laid-out curriculum. It was great to have a plethora of scientific evidence to support the various actions to increase happiness. The final rewirement, which we practiced for a month, was a helpful exercise and at the end of the course I was pleased to have such proven tools to use to keep up my practice and to extend it to other rewirements and other habits in my life.

This course was really eye opening ! The professor is engaging and intriguing with the reading course material . As well, as the discussions with other students.I absolutely excited about the course each time, I went online for the teachings! I'm so glad my niece suggested I take this course with her! We enjoyed chatting weekly about how the course was going, and the various things we learned about. Giving us 4 weeks at the end to really try out the rewirements we learned was GREAT. I'm shocked that my happiness scores actually went up, when all I made was a simple change. This has been my FIRST (!) online course. I very much enjoyed the professor's open mindedness and humility, including sharing her own challenges in meeting daily effort to apply the many areas of well-being development outlined in the course. Also, I found the Coursera platform and online technologies (the readings, videos and accompanying texts) and the general ease of use really greatly facilitated the experience. Thank you!

I already knew (or hear about) the things that were discussed within this course, but as was said - knowing is NOT half the battle. I did not know how to apply it into my real life, not to just know it, but know how to use it, how to benefit from it. It helped me to realize things that can actually increase my everyday happiness, now it is up to me and only me to start using them. The course is very well prepared and fun to do.

Really enjoyed this. I've registered for quite a few MOOCs in the past that have been dull, but this felt really interactive and personal, and was packed with interesting information. I have a PhD in psychology, so I knew some of it, but still learnt lots, and as Laurie points out, even those of us with broad knowledge about research on wellbeing still don't implement it as much as we should. I think I've improved at doing so.

This course allowed me to look into my soul and evaluate what I really needed to be happy and what I found out was that all I really needed was to stop comparing myself to others. I come from a family that showed little love and was taught from day 1 that "Little Girls were meant to be seen not heard." I realize now that this is me and I need to love me and love my life, it doesn't matter what other people think. Thank you.

I was a little skeptical al the begining because I didn't inderstand how anyone could meassure your level of happiness without being in your own shoes. This course showed me, through Scientfic findings and Statistical Data, tha happiness can be achieved or improved by folliwing simple steps and stying comitted. Kudos to Lauri Santos and her collaborators, for making this course available for free during the covid-19 pandemic.
