This course was really interesting! I loved it. The teacher was amazing and very engaging. And it was my first time doing peer-graded assignments, i was scared but i did it and i'm so proud of myself.

I was told it was inspirational and signed up without much thought about that but when you start doing the course and understand the problems that modern life is overwhelming us with then it becomes clear that the things you thought you knew are definately right. You will change your life immediately. Its mind bending stuff. I love wooping, gratitude, turning off social media to avoid referencing and diarising commitments to change or new strategies to get them in place.

Amazingly designed course, very compelling teacher and lectures, very practical, and honestly, life changing . I 100% reccommend taking this course to everyone wanting to improve their overall well-being, build the habits that will ACTUALLY make them happier, understand WHY they're going to make you happy, and enjoy the benefits of what it's taught even while taking the course due to the weekly rewierement challenges. This course was fantastic. Taking this class during a global pandemic was so impactful. It really helped me refocus and find my center during this stressful time. I feel like I had the tools (and even maybe the knowledge) but putting things into practice and having research based facts to support it, makes a huge difference! This class is easily completed with a full schedule as there is only about 2 hours of work a week. Would definitely reccommend this class to anyone!

It is quite simple:
This is more important than anything else I have ever learned at school... Ok, together with learning how to read and count.
Psychology is still largely missing from our educational system, even though it desribes exactly what we are and how we function. So I don't understand why we don't learn this at school: It is more important than economics.
This course should be given in the last grade of each highschool.

The opportunity to take an online Yale course taught by a knowledgeable and empathetic educator was an experience of a lifetime. My appreciation for both Yale and Coursera is substantial. I learned so much about myself and what true happiness really is for me. The material is excellent, the videos have the feeling of being in class with other students, and completing the course in your own timeframe was very helpful. I plan to take more courses from Coursera. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this course and the strategies it relayed to change our mindset for what it takes to be happy. The various assignments helped us to put these strategies into practice for ourselves. What we get out of it is up to us in sticking with the assignments, even if you start and stop you can try it at any time. The key is to be "intentional" about using these techniques even beyond the course. I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone. Thanks much!

Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Professor Santos has a very engaging and down to earth manner while disseminating academic principles. It is wonderful that Yale is offering siuch a meaningful real-life experience to students. As a society, we ignore the mental wellbeing of young people at our peril. Certainly seems to have given students plenty to think about in terms of planning time for themselves to ensure that they are as physically and mentally healthy as possible.

It does not look like it, but this is a seriously challenging course. To benefit from it, you must be open to change. As the course will show, your first instinct will be to disagree strongly with what is being presented. But that is "instinct", not science. Once you have accepted the science, the core challenge is to come up with own plan to overcome your own bias in order to adopt one or more good habit.
It is difficult. It is hard. It is uncomfortable. It is worth it.

This course taught me that I have influence on my own happiness and in the end I really am happier than before! The materials were very interesting and perfectly explained by Laurie Santos (an amazing professor!). I never was so dedicated to finish a course like I was with this one: the Coursera website works really well, the classes were not too long and were given very enthusiastically. I recommend everyone to follow this course; it will make you more happy for sure!

This course was amazing! Super informational. I highly recommend it. This course taught me more about happiness and I considered myself a pretty happy person already so that's saying something! It gave more insight to life, goals, and the little things about us that might seem like nothing but make the most of who we are. An excellent course very well structured. The data points definitely helped to back up the theory and make it all make sense. Whilst a lot of the course content is material we know we should be following for our own Well-Being it is good to be reminded about it and just how powerful the impact can be on our lives if we actually put it into practice. The rewirement assignment was then the perfect opportunity to try and change ones habits in a supportive and safe way.

Dieser Kurs ist unglaublich lehrreich und unterhaltsam. Ich habe mich immer auf die Einheiten gefreut. Laurie Santos schafft es, die Lerninhalte in angenehmen Umfang und eingehend zu erklären.
Die praktischen Übungen haben Spaß gemacht und oft einen Perspektivwechsel bewirkt.
Besonders hilfreich war die WOOP- Methode! Hiermit konnte ich leicht mein Ziel erreichen und diese Methode oft in meiner praktischen Beratungsarbeit anwenden!

This course is an interesting, fun, and eye opening experience. I enjoyed it very much and gained knowledge of how the mind works in different settings. It was the perfect course to take during quarantine time, however, I recommend taking it anytime. Your involvement is not overwhelming and you end it having learned something you did not know when you began. Professor Santos's way of teaching is down to earth and it was great to see her smiling face once a week.

When we understand miswanting things in life & real good habits that contribute to our well-being, we can shift our focus on things that matter more, such as: using signature strengths, savoring, gratitude, kindness, social connection, meditation, sleep & exercise. Happiness is not to buy, but to practice everyday via those good habits. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to live a happy healthy life.

I would recommend this class to everyone. I started this class 10-weeks ago when I had a job. My happiness scores were horrible! During the course, I lost my job due to COVID. Every week I looked forward to the next video and what Dr. Santos and team had discovered about what real happiness is. After the 10-week course, my happiness score improved that even I was surprised. I now know what real happiness is and you can too! You just need to sign up to find out ;)

Great for people who love to know the how to behind human happiness. Dr. Laurie Santos is easy to listen to, well spoke, clearly intelligent and feels humble. I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent listening to the lectures and doing the homework as I felt like I was seeing things very clearly for the first time on this topic. Happiness is not something you have by being lucky, it's a goal you will move the needle in the right direction by knowing these great insights.

This course provided such a variety of information to support the key concepts of Wellbeing. The instructors recordings were engaging and delivered in a way that encouraged students to reflect on their perceptions. The value of this course far outweighs its cost and the content along with the assignments lead to a lasting improvement in your happiness. Fantastic course full of amazing and insightful lectures. I learnt so much, so much more than I thought! This is a very insightful course on a topic that hits close to everyone's home. The recommendations for a life of wellness enclosed in this material are presented excellently and practical/feasible. The content will be helpful for everyone, regardless of their psychosocial status. Loved this course so much! I had been having a hard time during the COVID-19 pandemic and this course helped get me on my feet. I've learned many things and it was fun to listen to the lectures, too, because everything made so much sense. There were things I already knew but I didn't know had scientific terms to. I am also convinced everybody should be taking this course in order to get an inkling of what it really means to live a life of happiness and well-being.
