About the Course

Create High-Fidelity Designs and Prototypes in Figma is the fifth course in a certificate program that will equip you with the skills you need to apply to entry-level jobs in user experience (UX) design. In this course, you will follow step-by-step tutorials to learn how to create high-fidelity designs, called mockups, in Figma, a popular design tool. Then, you’ll turn those designs into an interactive prototype that works like a finished product. You’ll conduct research to collect feedback about your designs and make improvements. Finally, you’ll learn how to share your designs with development teams and highlight your work in your professional UX portfolio. Current UX designers and researchers at Google will serve as your instructors, and you will complete hands-on activities that simulate real-world UX design scenarios. Learners who complete the seven courses in this certificate program should be equipped to apply for entry-level jobs as UX designers. By the end of this course, you will be able to: - Build mockups and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma. - Define and apply common visual design elements and principles. - Demonstrate how design systems can be used to organize, standardize, and enhance designs. - Understand the role of design critique sessions and feedback while iterating on designs. - Learn how to hand off finished design projects to engineering teams. - Complete mobile app designs to include in a professional UX portfolio. This course is suitable for beginner-level UX designers who have completed the previous four courses of the Google UX Design Certificate. Alternatively, learners who have not completed the previous courses should have a strong understanding of the design process, how to create low-fidelity designs on paper and in Figma, and how to conduct usability studies....

Working within Figma, you really learn a lot about the program and its benefits. The course teaches you in great detail how to successfully create hifi designs, and is packed with a ton of knowledge.

The content was extensive and very complete, it was amazing turning what i have been working on the past coursers into something visual and tangible. All activities reinforced the previews learnings.

Mediocre overview of the concepts prevented. Instructors could've easily shown more examples or demonstrated creating a mockup in Figma from scratch, but they couldn't be bothered to. Additionally, the "challenges" (tests) at the end of every module are testing the student on visual concepts, yet contain no visuals in the questions- only text, which makes for frustratingly vague/ambiguous questions that are needlessly difficult.

Feels like it misses on things while wasting time going back over things we just did. To my understanding, the courses are meant to be taken in order so it felt like a large waste of time relearning things I just did while other important issues were missed completely or put together in an order that just wasn't conductive.

I got stuck on this course for a long while simply because I think what was given on visual design wasn't enough to help someone who has never done anything close to graphic design before. I had to take a supplemental course outside of this to be able to really grasp color theory, font types, layouts etc.

Removal of the compulsory peer-reviewed design project from the course requirement undermines the authenticity of the course certificate.

Much of this course was tedious and redundant. I did learn about the topic but it could have been shortened to 4 weeks max, not six.

The peer review does not make sense. You can not argue grade which is very different from a physical class.

I would appreciate if you extend one week and add on the Mockup live project with the tutor.

Previous courses had practical assignments that could be peer reviewed to gain additional feedback. This one is stuck with only quizzes which don't feel very useful.

This course is overlapping with low-fidelity course in a big way. Not only the material is repeated, but also there's no meaning new stuff presented in this course.

I completed this course and now it's showing it as not complete. All the courses are out of order and difficult to find. I just completed a course and am not led to the next course in the series. For a course on UX Design, the layout and user flow of this site is garbage
