Technology is transforming how organizations operate, compete, and serve their stakeholders. As digital capabilities expand, leaders have a growing responsibility to ensure technology is developed, deployed, and governed ethically, responsibly, and in ways that align with human values. This specialization provides a practical roadmap for leading in a technology-driven world.
Across three progressive courses, learners will build a foundation in technology ethics, identify and manage the ethical risks of emerging technologies, and learn how to embed ethical practices into everyday operations. Topics include ethical leadership, digitalization, data ethics, artificial intelligence, robotics, social media, governance, risk management, and organizational culture.
Designed for leaders, managers, professionals, and policymakers, the specialization emphasizes practical frameworks and real-world application. By the end, learners will be able to evaluate ethical challenges, make responsible technology decisions, foster trust, mitigate risk, and lead initiatives that create lasting value for organizations and society.
Applied Learning Project
There is no formal project requirement for this specialization. However, students are encouraged to apply their learning by developing a relevant Code of Technology Ethics for an organization. The code should define clear principles and practical commitments that guide responsible technology decisions and use. Drawing on the skills developed across the three courses, students should be able to make a compelling case to management, demonstrate the value of ethical technology practices, and secure support for implementation. They should also be equipped to deploy the code through policies, processes, training, and accountability measures, monitor its effectiveness, and refine it as technologies and organizational needs evolve.
