Build practical skills in investment banking, capital markets, M&A, private equity, corporate restructuring, and business valuation.
Learn to analyze transactions, evaluate financing strategies, and apply valuation frameworks used in corporate finance decision-making.
This Specialization develops an integrated understanding of how investment banks operate, raise capital, manage risk, execute transactions, and support corporate growth. You will analyze banking functions, financial instruments, derivatives, securities underwriting, and equity issuance before examining private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, alternative investments, and restructuring strategies.
You will then evaluate mergers and acquisitions, synergy, deal structures, negotiation, transaction financing, and post-merger considerations. Finally, you will build financial forecasting and valuation skills by comparing market, income, and asset-based methods and applying DCF concepts including cash flows, discount rates, terminal value, and risk.
You will also explore valuation challenges involving private companies, startups, and intangible assets. Designed for aspiring and early-career finance professionals, the Specialization provides a structured pathway for developing analytical skills relevant to investment banking, corporate finance, equity research, transaction advisory, private capital, and valuation roles.
Applied Learning Project
Learners will work through applied investment banking and corporate finance scenarios involving capital raising, underwriting, private capital, restructuring, M&A, and valuation. They will evaluate financing alternatives, assess transaction structures, build forecasting assumptions, apply DCF and other valuation methods, and recommend strategies for realistic business and investment decisions.
