I don't think that peer-review assignments ought to weigh on our grades, as I have encountered peers not testing my reference links or actually reading submissions which ended up resulting in a non-passing score.

Leslie Irvine was an excellent teacher. Even though the classes were short, the information was detailed and I learned a lot of different aspects of the animals sorrounding our current society that I had never considered before.

This specialization covers interation between ourselves as a human and other species.It will challenge your thinking and beliefs. Well worth taking even if it is not in your normal area of interest.

Awesome course! Learned a lot. Very interesting and easy to learn from. Educational. I am studying to be a vet tech and this will be a valuable course on my resume.

This course provides a lot of examples regarding human and animal relationships. It also encourages us to question the philosophical, psychological, and moral implications regarding human-animal interactions along with racialization and genderization of animals.

Very good content, but the lecturer just reads everything throughout the whole course, there is no graphic or visual explanation and the content becomes hard to digest.

Need Graphics, & Pictures in Lecture

I am really sad that I have to give such a low rating, but unfortunately I cannot give more stars to this course.

The videos had a serous lack of visual aids, and the fact that the professor simply read a text made sitting through the videos unbearable. I think it was unprofessional to read the text verbatim, instead she could have made notes and based on those she could have delivered the lectures free style. Or at least she could have made an attempt to be a bit less monotone while reading.

If any changes are to be made I recommend minimalising the video of the professor and putting presentation slides in the background that have the main points of the lecture and some pictures to make them more memorable. They don't have to be fancy, a simple Power Point presentation would suffice.

I also found the material of the course too simple, even though I didn't posses much prior knowledge. I will not be taking the next course in this specialisation.

The course was excellent! I better understand how animals function as symbols and metaphors in media, contributing to cultural and social narratives. It also comprehensively examined the psychological impacts of human-animal interactions. One of my favourite elements from this experience is that this program offered an evidence-based perspective on animals' roles in our cultural frameworks and well-being.

O curso em si é ótimo, só a participação dos outros alunos que deixa a desejar, não tem quase nenhuma resposta opcional dos outros alunos e no fórum pelo que vi não tem muitos respostas as perguntas, só preciso que alguém corrija minha resposta para conseguir o certificado, espero que seja logo!

Good sociological perspective on animals as social constructs, on our relationship to pets, wildlife conflicts, animal abuse. I'm glad I took this course. Leslie Irvine does a good job.

Lots of videos make it an easy to pass course that packs a lot of information. Requires a bit of writing skill, as there is one multiparagraph writing assignment that is peer graded.
