I absolutely loved this course. It taught me about all the wonderful economist and social justice warriors of our economy, current and older markets, and how they affected out country and still do.
The course examines the common perceptions of business (both positive and negative) and the role of business in a market economy by first introducing the main elements of a market economy, and then presenting opposing points of view of this economic model. The course encourages reflection upon the possibility that business can be honorable and play a role in a just and humane society.

I absolutely love this course! Everything was engaging and well laid out. The only issue is you have to wait for peer review which holds you back from getting a certificate.

The course Director James R Otteson has given a very wide coverage of the emergence and growth of Market Economy, identifies the arguments for and against Market Economy by various Economists and Authors, and emphasizes the need for Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics of Businesses. With his philosophical background, he has emphasized on businesses being noble. The course deserves its title, and leave us enlightened and enriched about the Principles of Business.
I want to give a feedback on grading the Peer Graded Assignments. The scores are 0 or 5, and 0 or 5 or 10. Leaving very little scope for grading. Some assignment may not deserve a 0 or 5, but we are forced to score 0 for such assignments. We may think of giving 0,2,4,and 5, and 4,8,and 10, so that a candidate who gets 4 out of 5 marks can be graded 80% and the one scoring 8 out of 10 can also be given 80% score. We may think of giving Multiple Choice questions, and Quizzes to evaluate them instantly by the Course Director through Computer Aided Instant Evaluation, and ensuring in depth study by the candidates.
Excellent course to reflect on the questions. The Mendoza school's ideologies do come through loud and clear, but we are given plenty of room to reflect and place our own thoughts into strong arguments. Not quite enough students participating in the active grading to make it quick enough, but overall good.
