The course on generative AI has been an immensely valuable experience, providing both practical insights and critical perspectives on the use of AI in education and beyond. One of the most significant takeaways was understanding the importance of OpenAI's rules, particularly regarding children's access to AI tools. Knowing that children under 13 require parental consent and guidance is a crucial safeguard, especially given the transformative impact of technologies like smartphones on an entire generation. The Negotiation Simulator was a standout experience, offering a unique opportunity to interact with AI in an immersive way. It felt akin to playing a strategic game of chess against a computer, highlighting AI's potential to simulate real-world scenarios. While data privacy is a concern, the simulator underscored how AI can revolutionize teaching and training. Moreover, swapping roles with AI to make it a tutor was insightful, showcasing the adaptability and creative applications of these tools. From the perspective of a business consultant rather than a traditional educator, this course offered invaluable insights. Stepping into the role of a teacher temporarily expanded my understanding of how AI can be utilized as both a teaching aid and a learning partner. This experience has directly influenced my approach to helping clients integrate AI into their operations, particularly in developing tailored applications for functions like HR and procurement within SMEs. Looking forward, the course also inspired reflection on the broader implications of AI in a world facing significant challenges, such as climate change. While the potential for global strain exists, I remain optimistic that humanity will adapt. AI's role in supporting planners and decision-makers, particularly those who may already be fatigued or overwhelmed, will be pivotal. The balance between rapid adoption and ethical use, especially in critical areas like crisis management, will require careful consideration, but the potential for AI to aid in addressing these challenges is immense.
