About the Course

This course is aimed at students wishing to learn how Java interacts with databases in a modern framework. The course uses the very popular Spring Boot Framework, with Micro services, as a setting for our database interactions using Java Persistence Framework (JPA) and Spring Data Repositories to abstract away JPA. Students will then learn how to expose Repositories as Rest Web services in their own right using Hypermedia as the Engine of Application State or HATEAOS concepts. Spring Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) will be covered to illustrate how cross cutting concerns like logging can be applied in a centralized non evasive manner to domain classes. finally the course covers the use of Spring Transaction Managers and Springs declarative configuration Transaction model....

Explanation was precise and clear. You'll probably need to pause and understand if you are new to the spring. Labs were helpful in getting the actual environment feel without much hassle of setting things up. Activity and quizzes helped evaluate understanding of concepts and resources attached were very informative. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience. Cheers. :)

A bit cumbersome, lack of visual part, like

- Guys, we change that code (highlight it in the presentation) and ehre what happens (highlight it again)

I would remove a free-text quizes, but instead add more questions or even practical quizes.

More of that, please take a look at quizes, some typos happened (I've reported a few)

Many thanks for your work! It's very useful, especially for beginners.

very very poor course. Nobody should do that. No real example, no real explanation. What the hell is a joinpoint?, i had to study on other sources in order to solve the week 2 quizzes. no code review, many typos (even in the questions). very very bad.
