I love the professor in that he displays the right amount of empathy, compassion, and professionalism in presenting data & information that supports diverse populations and the resources available to help them. Also, he displayed exceptional clarity (ease of explaining complex information) in helping students understand how the various US Social Systems Services and Resources work based on economic data based on: birth rates, deaths, disabilities, and future workforce projections. I highly recommend this class for anyone interested in understanding US social services systems. Also, my biggest takeaway was about immigration and how immigration factors into US Social Services Systems and future projections for social security and of course, how liberal and conservative voting, government and congress ultimately have the final say in everything. Great Class!!! Thank you Columbia University representatives. In my opinion, from taking numerous educational pieces of training from some of the top-notch US universities, YOU did an outstanding job in presenting this material in a fun, enjoyable, chunked method of teaching so we ADHD folks and elders could stay focused, understand, and LEARN!!! Very insightful class for professionals working in the social services. Course touches on many aspects of our social policy from nutritional assistance to retirement. Course design is very easy to follow and ideal for those with full-time jobs or seeking to take additional classes in their free-time. I would highly recommend this course for anyone that works with the public through a governmental agency or a non-profit!
