Despite my busy schedule and demands in my work, I was able to finish this course. And I am thankful to Coursera specially DOST-Caraga for allowing me to learn all this through their scholarship programs. Kudos to Prof. Masten and the rest of the resilience team.

I liked and enjoyed everything about this course from Dr. Ann Masten. Class sessions were focused on a single topic, brief and packed with information. Supplemental readings enhanced the class sessions with real examples, interviews, etc.

Overall, the course has been educational and useful. However, being dated back to 2010, the course needs further thorough revision with regards to the content, presentation style (very old-fashioned videos with the boring slides), home assignments with no feedback, no applicable resources that can be used instantly in the classroom or teacher trainings.
Thank you for the opportunity to learn more about resilience!

Quizzes are kind of confusing, and Id like more assignments to count for grades and less quizzes. Like points for discussions. Or give examples in own life of when you personally had to use resilience.

Good information. The lessons could have been more exciting or engaging. I found it a bit repetitive toward the end and wanted maybe more reflections or discussions to really grasp the course material

I learned so much. Each component was excellent, the lectures, the interviews, the videos, and the activities. The study examples highlighted in the course were illuminating and helped me further understand the concepts explained. However, I wish the course highlighted studies on Palestinian children and the ongoing traumatic stress disorder they live with on a daily basis, which results from the Israeli colonization of Palestine. I also wish that Prof. Masten contextualized her explanation of the study done on Israeli children during "Operation Cast Lead" and framed a more complete picture. All in all, this was an excellent course that I will recommend to all of my colleagues who are in the psychology or social work fields.

I found this course extremely informative. The thorough overview provided of the research that has gone into the science of resilience was fascinating. The concept of adaptive factors and promotive factors for improving ones ability to overcome adversity was valuable because I work with at-risk students. I appreciated the perspectives offered by the guest speakers included in the course as well. However, the discussion forum was only slightly useful and having to take a "final" exam was unnecessary. I found the final exam process infuriating, especially when the questions changed for every retake not providing the option for the process of elimination. Since it's not a course one is getting credit for or to receive a final grade for a college transcript, it shouldn't be an additional requirement for completing a course!

I really enjoy and learned a lot about resilience in this course. Profesor Masten is a well known researcher in this field and know what she is talking. I believe it is a good appetizer for those who aren't sure about what way to go within the psychology, psychiatry, and mental health sciences. I would have loved for this course to have talked more in detail about the treatment and therapies to treat children and how to actually do the treatment; some therapies are mention during the course, but it doesn't really emphasises on any of them. Another reason that I rate this course 4 starts is because I posted a couple of questions about the videos of the course and they were never answered, I felt like if nobody was on the other side.
I appreciate your input. Thank you!

I liked the course in general. It feels a bit plain and basic. However, interviews with researchers of resilience and resilient individuals are particularly interesting, they're probably the best part of this course.

It's good that there are a variety of subtopics per week. However, sometimes some videos are not specific, i.e. sometimes they are more extensive than they could be.

Great course and very relevant to our day and age. I just wish that videos were more updated and so were the readings/ resources. I felt that videos are relevant however very old.

I definitively enjoyed it, but I felt it was less relevant to a third work context than I had hoped. If this does not bother you, I recommend it!

The course was unfortunately slow and repetitive. Many of the videos could have been far more concise and the points were repeated over and over. The last week had interesting points to it but for the most part the whole course could have been done in two equivalent weeks. Rape and sexual trauma was skimmed and trotted around and the course would have been better if it made a point of not speaking about it altogether due to its different nature from other traumas mentioned. Good try but I felt I was forcing myself to watch the videos as there was so little to absorb from them that was not already evident as a self aware human.
