Relevant and WORTHWHILE!

After finishing this course I want to comment that there are few PD undertakings that I feel have such an immediate and IMPORTANT impact in Education. We are people, we work with people, and we are helping young people. How are we to do this well...especially in a global pandemic? I have been a life long student of education and psychology mostly centered in the arts. We have been engaging in these discussions and topics as arts educators for a long time but without the clarity and direction that this course brings the topic. Finally I feel like there is common language to discuss emoting AND its relevance to the field of education is much more clear and practical - Words that are not commonly connected with a more "subjective" field! Thank you to everyone out there studying social emotional best practices and innovating in this field. Thank you to the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence for leading in bringing this subject from abstract to concrete. I hope that we will make a better world where this is at the center of teaching and learning regardless of discipline, delivery, age, or content.

This was an excellent, easy to follow course that talked about the most basic of things but really gave me suggestions and tools for each step of the process. I love how it focused on us and our emotions as staff members first, and then turned to the kids, which is just what we need to do when someone is triggered-check our own emotions first, and then attend to the issue so you can role model healthy regulation.

Excellent course on learning how to handle one's own emotions as well as social situations with peers or students. I absolutely appreciate the RULER approach and want to see it trained in schools and organizations.

WHERE IS MY CERTIFICATE

This is a good course and has much to teach on the topic of emotional intelligence. My reasons for taking off one start is that it does not elaborate on RULER - the research-backed approach that Marc has developed to operationalise emotional and social Intelligence. I badly wanted to learn about RULER and for this I need to be an educator and enrol at the Yale Center along with 2 others.

I am a therapist with an individual practice. It looks like there is no way I can learn directly online about RULER. That is very disappointing for me. I really wish they create a separate online course on RULER for individuals like me who are not part of a school

In the tumultuous climate of today's world, finding stability, especially within oneself, has never been more challenging. The course "Managing Emotions in Times of Uncertainty & Stress" served as a beacon of understanding in this often overlooked aspect of personal health, providing practical, thoughtful, and immediately applicable techniques. From the outset, the course did not shy away from addressing the complexities of emotional turmoil. The instructors presented content that was both empathetic and empowering, ensuring a deeply human approach to scientific information. Their expertise was evident, grounding theories with real-world scenarios that resonated on a personal level, making learning relatable and engaging. What impressed me most were the comprehensive strategies provided, addressing a variety of situations from personal anxieties to professional stress. Modules exploring self-compassion, mindfulness, and emotional agility were standout favorites, introducing innovative ideas that I could integrate seamlessly into my daily routine. The section on establishing a "Circle of Control" was a revelation, effectively changing my perspective on handling unforeseen challenges. Moreover, the course structure deserves praise. The balance between video lectures, interactive assignments, and supplementary reading materials fostered an immersive learning environment. The opportunity to interact with fellow participants broadened my understanding of the universal nature of our struggles, particularly during these trying times. However, one aspect that could enhance this experience is the addition of live Q&A sessions or webinars. Such interactions would provide real-time support during the learning journey, building a stronger sense of community among participants. In conclusion, "Managing Emotions in Times of Uncertainty & Stress" is more than just a course; it's a lifeline for those feeling adrift in the current sea of global uncertainty. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for anchorage, especially when navigating the rough waters of emotional turmoil. The insights offered are not mere quick fixes but profound changes in mindset, equipping participants with the emotional resilience to weather the storms ahead.
