This course is full of benefit. Content of the course is very accurate. Teacher who was teaching was also good. I would suggest to all the beginner to learn this topic who are interested in IoT field.

Overall to basic introduction, only few lectures had good content where you learned important topics. The instructor is good at explaining and clear, but the contents were mostly to easy. Assignments were not good at all, way to basic and simple. Unfortunately, I noticed many cheating on the assignments as well which made me think if Coursera is a serious learning platform??..

I was so excited for this course, but IT failed miserably. I am a complete newbie, I didn't know one thing about IoT before engaging in this course. I gave it one star due to actually learning a small something IN SPITE of the fact the prof is extremely inarticulate. The course is extremely short and vague. There was no care in detail or discussion or presentation. There's no forum to ask questions or to even start or engage in a discussion.

Would not let me leave course after signing up. Due to family issues, I could not continue, but due to some weird policy, after purchasing this class, I could not drop. (Still can't)

Here's a review for an assignment titled "Introduction to the Internet of Things and Embedded Systems": ### **Review of "Introduction to the Internet of Things and Embedded Systems"** #### **1. Introduction:** - **Content:** The introduction effectively outlines the scope of the assignment by providing a clear definition of both the Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded systems. It sets the stage for a comprehensive exploration of these concepts. - **Effectiveness:** The introduction provides a solid foundation for understanding the significance and interplay between IoT and embedded systems. #### **2. Internet of Things (IoT):** - **Definition and Overview:** - **Content:** The assignment provides a clear definition of IoT, explaining it as a network of interconnected devices that communicate and share data. - **Suggestions:** Including examples of real-world IoT applications (e.g., smart home devices, wearables) would enhance understanding. Discussing the architecture of IoT systems and key components such as sensors, actuators, and cloud services could provide a more comprehensive view. - **Applications:** - **Content:** The assignment discusses various applications of IoT, including smart homes, healthcare, industrial IoT, and agriculture. - **Suggestions:** Expanding on each application with specific examples and potential benefits or challenges could add depth. For example, detailing how IoT enhances patient monitoring in healthcare or how it optimizes farming practices in agriculture would be informative. - **Challenges:** - **Content:** The challenges associated with IoT, such as security, privacy, and interoperability, are well addressed. - **Suggestions:** Providing examples of real-world incidents related to these challenges, or discussing current solutions and best practices, would make this section more impactful. #### **3. Embedded Systems:** - **Definition and Overview:** - **Content:** The assignment defines embedded systems and explains their role as specialized computing systems designed for specific tasks. - **Suggestions:** Including examples of embedded systems in everyday devices (e.g., microwave ovens, car engines) could make the concept more relatable. Describing the characteristics that define embedded systems, such as real-time operation and resource constraints, would be useful. - **Components and Design:** - **Content:** The assignment briefly covers the components of embedded systems, such as microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators. - **Suggestions:** Expanding on the design considerations for embedded systems, such as power consumption, performance constraints, and software development, would provide a more complete picture. Including diagrams or flowcharts illustrating typical embedded system architectures could be helpful. #### **4. Integration of IoT and Embedded Systems:** - **Content:** The assignment addresses how IoT relies on embedded systems to function, emphasizing the role of embedded systems in enabling IoT devices. - **Suggestions:** Providing specific examples of how embedded systems are used in IoT devices (e.g., a microcontroller in a smart thermostat) would clarify this relationship. Discussing the interaction between IoT protocols and embedded systems could further illustrate their integration. #### **5. Future Prospects:** - **Content:** The assignment explores future trends in IoT and embedded systems, such as advancements in AI, machine learning, and the expansion of IoT applications. - **Suggestions:** Adding insights into emerging technologies and their potential impact on IoT and embedded systems (e.g., edge computing, 5G) would enhance this section. Discussing potential future challenges and opportunities in these fields would provide a forward-looking perspective. #### **6. Summary and Conclusion:** - **Content:** The summary effectively recaps the key points covered in the assignment and reiterates the importance of understanding IoT and embedded systems. - **Suggestions:** A brief conclusion on the potential for innovation and growth in these fields, along with the relevance of these technologies in various industries, would provide a strong ending. #### **Overall Impression:** The assignment offers a comprehensive introduction to IoT and embedded systems, providing a solid foundation for understanding these concepts. Including more real-world examples, detailed explanations of components and design considerations, and insights into future trends would further enrich the content. Overall, the assignment is well-structured and informative, covering essential aspects of IoT and embedded systems. Great job!

Learning the basics of Internet of things bought a great source of motivation in me of imagining and realizing networking with the help of electronic equipments as I used to study those things theoretically but never implemented them practically. The best part of the course was tracking the movement of a data packet through the Wireshark application. All thanks to our respected Ian Harris sir for all his efforts in making us realize these things practically.

This course helped me understand a lot, not just about IoT devices, but also how the internet functions and the embedded systems. As an electrotechnical and computer engineering student, the information provided in this course was very helpful to understand many things relevant to my area. Now I have a basic understanding of IoT, embedded systems, and internet protocols. Great course for beginners.

First of all the the most important thing is the course instructor, professor Ian Harris made the course enjoyable ,easy to understand and informative. His way of lecturing remove any boredom any person may have from the many new technicality in the course. Also, I like the course content for an introductory course and I have learned many new things and excited to take next course.
