a light introduction to design thinking. not too taxing. easy to understand concepts with some practical applications tested. good stepping stone to more rigorous and testing design thinking courses

Excellent course. Logically structured and well presented. I particularly liked the blend between academic lectures and comments from designers in the industry. I found the multiple-choice tests a little tricky, but the practical assignment was very insightful.
The only drawback was the lack of much meaningful interaction with other participants. In other courses that I've done on Coursera (e.g. Introduction to Philosophy, University of Edinburgh, and Introduction to Psychology, Yale) there was a lot more meaningful discussion at the end of each module between the participants (who seemed more serious about the subject).
Other than that, a really good course that gave me a lot of insights in a relatively short period (it took me five days to complete). Am looking forward to reading Dr. Tomisch's book. Thank you!

Overall the video content and the case studies are interesting materials in the course, it provides you with many insights and case study based on what's really happening in the real world (and their tips to get the innovation to solve the problems). However, the clip for each speaker is separated throughout the video thus making me confused about what project they are currently handling.
Another disappointing factor in this course is the Peer-Review. One of my reviewers didn't give any insightful or constructive critics and assessed poorly my peer-graded submission. I assume that the peer is probably in this course just for the sake of the certificate, without understanding what the requirements and the aspect of the evaluation itself.

Content and presentation by the facilitators was consistently high quality and engaging. Each module provided an excellent review of the challenges and opportunities inherent in each area – while challenging us to clarify and to find our own answers. Great programme in content. I feel that all the techniques used, the methods, the videos, the reading, the experts tips, were extremely good. At no point did I feel that the training was “long”. I learnt a lot. I feel inspired to re-think (re-design) the way I plan and present my work. Thanks a lot for the journey!

This course reminded me that making products and services is not always about business and technology, which, as an engineering graduate, I usually tend to think. Now, I believe including users in the design process as suggested in a human-centered design concept is very crucial. The idea that I can apply the concept not only to designing products and services but also in other work environments feels so right.
The course has a very good collection of learning resources available.
