This course is taught by Abraham Leal from Nexttut, a 3D artist with more than 11 years of industry experience and the founder of Critical Hit Studio in Mexico. His practical, production-focused approach makes this class unique, ensuring you not only understand the tools but also how to apply them in real-world scenarios.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to create cinematic renders using Arnold lights, cameras, and materials while building strong foundations in scene setup. You will learn how to control rendering samples, master camera and lighting fundamentals, and produce clean, compelling images ready for post-production.
This course is designed for intermediate Maya students who want to move past flat or lifeless renders and begin crafting cinematic shots. To succeed, you should already be comfortable with the Maya interface and have a basic understanding of Arnold rendering. Photoshop is recommended for post-processing.
If you’re ready to elevate your portfolio with beautifully lit 3D environments and scenes, this course will give you the technical and artistic tools to get there.

The final module focuses on creating and refining full scene setups. You’ll learn how to assemble scenes in Maya, apply substance materials, and integrate depth of field for a professional, cinematic look. By adding LUTs and working through an interior scene setup, you’ll synthesize camera, lighting, and material skills into a cohesive workflow.
