Is your team constantly busy but struggling to get work across the finish line? Do tasks get stuck "In Progress" while new ones keep piling up? This course, Automate WIP Limits for Agile Projects, shows you how to solve that problem. Designed for beginners, this course moves beyond theory to give you a practical, career-enhancing automation skill.
You will learn why Work-In-Progress (WIP) limits are a cornerstone of successful Agile teams and how to enforce them without becoming the "process police." Through a step-by-step screencast, you will use Butler, a powerful and accessible automation tool, to build a rule that automatically manages your team's workflow. You will configure this rule to prevent overload, test it to ensure it works as intended, and integrate it with team communication channels like Slack. By the end of this course, you will be able to implement an automated system that protects your team's focus, eliminates bottlenecks, and creates a smooth, predictable flow of work from "To Do" to "Done."
This foundational module covers both the "why" and the "how" of Work-in-Progress (WIP) limits. You will first analyze the critical role of WIP limits in Agile project management for preventing bottlenecks and improving flow. Then, you will get hands-on experience building your first automation rule in Butler to enforce these limits on a project board, moving directly from theory to application.
