Arun Agrawal’s research and teaching emphasizes the politics of international development, institutional change, and environmental conservation. He was trained as a political scientist at Duke University, and in history and management in India. He has held teaching and research positions at Yale, Florida, McGill, Berkeley, and Harvard, among other universities. He is a Professor Emeritus of Environment and Sustainability, of the School for Environment and Sustainability; and Faculty Associate in the Center for Political Studies, of the Institute for Social Research.
