Academics

This master’s degree is designed to accommodate both existing security professionals and graduates looking to launch a cyber security career.

Faculty teaching on this programme are pioneering and influential researchers, academics, and professionals in the security field, who regularly provide expert advice to a range of major bodies, including: 

  • UK Government All Party Parliamentary Groups 

  • The International Organisation for Standardisation

  • The International Electrotechnical Commission 

  • The European Telecommunications Standards Institute

  • The Internet Engineering Task Force.

The programme focuses on building essential practical skills to help you advance your career as a cyber security specialist, preparing for leading roles such as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and cyber solutions architect while gaining hands-on experience with the latest industry case studies. You’ll learn a broad range of timely and relevant topics to prepare you for real-world career success. 

Flexibility
Start on any course and work through the programme in your own time choosing how many modules to study in each session, up to a maximum of two new modules.
Sample courses
If you’re not yet ready to enrol, there are a number of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) you can start today to gain a stronger foundational understanding of cyber security.
Programme length
Each module is run over a 10-week block, with the exception of the Project which is run over two 10-week blocks. This degree will take 24 - 60 months to complete.
Assessment
All 15-credit modules are assessed with a single assessment method, (either coursework or an online examination, depending on the module).
