Graduates receive a Master of Science in Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. It is the same degree awarded to students in the on-campus MSM program.
This degree is designed for learners from non-business and business-adjacent backgrounds who want to build management capability and expand access to roles in management, consulting, analytics, entrepreneurship, and other business-focused functions.

Yes. Gies College of Business is accredited by AACSB.
Prospective students can contact Gies College of Business at giesonline@illinois.edu and can also attend upcoming webinars or live office hours listed on the program page.
The program requires a bachelor’s degree, and GMAT and GRE scores are not required. The iMSM is open to students from any undergraduate major, so a prior business background is not required.
The program is designed to take 12 to 24 months to complete. It includes 9 courses total, and students should plan for about 10 to 15 hours of work per week.
The curriculum covers core management topics including leadership, teams, marketing management, strategic management, process management, accounting, and finance. Students can also customize the degree through electives or optional specializations in Business Data Analytics or Business Value and Project Management.
The program uses a pay-as-you-go model, so students pay tuition only for the courses they are taking in a given term. Tuition is at $379 per credit and shows two different total-cost figures, $13,644 and $13,068, which should be reconciled before publishing. Limited competitive scholarships may cover 70% of tuition for select students, and U.S. residents may qualify for student aid.
