Northeastern University offers a Fast App performance-based pathway for all learners for the Master of Science in Engineering Management degree. Get admitted based on your performance in approved courses - no application required.
Complete a two-course pathway in Engineering Probability and Statistics and Deterministic Operations Research for credit. Achieve at least a B in each course, and show proof of your bachelor’s degree by the time you complete the courses, and you’ll continue into the full degree program the next term.

Graduates earn a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Northeastern University’s College of Engineering. It is the same degree awarded in the on-campus program, and the diploma does not mention online study or Coursera.
Fast App is Northeastern’s performance-based admissions pathway. Instead of starting with a traditional application, learners begin with two approved pathway courses for the next available term. Students who earn a B or better in both courses and provide proof of a completed bachelor’s degree continue into the full degree program in the following term.
Yes. The Fast App pathway courses are part of the MSEM curriculum and count toward the full degree when they are completed successfully and all admission requirements are met.
No. The online MSEM program is not F-1 visa eligible. Students who need an F-1 eligible option should consider Northeastern’s on-ground MSEM program.
No. The program is open to learners with and without a technical background.
Yes. Students can enter through the Fast App pathway or apply for direct admission through Northeastern’s standard graduate application process.
You can submit a standard application to our program, which will allow you to use federal financial aid from the very beginning of your courses.
Yes. Students who complete the program are invited to attend Northeastern’s graduation ceremony on campus, although attendance is optional.
The program is designed to be completed in about 18 months. It includes 8 courses in total, and students should plan for about 10 hours of study per week for each course.
Total tuition is $24,000, with 8 courses at $3,000 each. The program uses a pay-as-you-go model, so students pay only for the courses they are taking in a given term and can pause their studies without additional tuition charges.
