There are five sessions every year, and you can start in any session. Fall and Spring will include two 8-week sessions, while Summer will have one 8-week session.
The Master of Information Technology program's performance-based admissions process is being updated. We are introducing a new, flexible pathway to better prepare you for success in the program. Please note that the options for admission will be changing, effective with the Summer 2026 term.
Applying for Spring 2026 terms
For students applying for admission into the Spring 2026 A or B terms, you must provide proof of your bachelor’s degree and complete one of two pathways:
Complete ITM 705, 706, and 707 in open content and complete the summative assessment. Students can register in the for-credit version of these courses up to Week 5. (Please note: The Spring 2026 term is the final opportunity to use this for-credit pathway. It will no longer be accepted for admission starting in Summer 2026.)
Complete the Google IT Support Professional Certificate. This industry-recognized credential provides a direct pathway for admission.
Applying for performance-based admissions from Summer 2026 term
Starting with the Summer 2026 term, the for-credit course pathway (ITM 705, 706, 707) will be replaced with the Mastering Operating Systems Specialization. For the new admissions requirements you must provide proof of your bachelor’s degree and complete one of the following:
Mastering Operating Systems Specialization. This specialization, available January 12, 2026, includes a new capstone module to directly assess readiness for the program.
Google IT Support Professional Certificate. This industry-recognized credential provides a direct pathway for admission.
Announcing a new course for Spring 2027
To ensure a strong, comprehensive foundation for your master's degree, a new course will be required for all students admitted through a non-credit pathway (the Mastering Operating Systems Specialization or the Google Certificate).
