All international applicants to UNT must show proof of English language proficiency in one of the following ways:

1. Citizenship of one of the approved English-speaking countries
2. Degree or courses completed at an accredited institute in the U.S. or in one of the approved English-speaking countries
3. English Language/English Proficiency Exam A DuoLingo score of at least 100/160 TOEFL score of 79 or above IELTS score of 6.0 or above APTE score of 53 or above

Students who do not meet the published admission standards will be evaluated through an individual review process and may experience a longer wait time for an admission decision. If there is further documentation needed to render a decision you will be contacted. Students who are not admitted through the individual review process may work with an admissions counselor to determine options to reapply at a later time.

No experience is necessary to be successful in this degree.

You’ll learn in an asynchronous format while meeting weekly deadlines. You may also be able to engage in real-time via synchronous virtual sessions and office hours with your instructor or teaching assistants. Classes are 8 weeks and you can expect to spend about 18+ hours a week of study per course.

On average, you should anticipate dedicating approximately 18 hours per week to each course you are taking. You’ll have periods of independent study that are more flexible and group sessions that may be more scheduled.

You can expect a cost of $330 for each credit hour (most courses are 3 credit hours), with a total of 120 credit hours needed to complete the degree program. Your payments will need to be made by the start of classes each semester per UNT Student Accounting deadlines.

You’ll need a minimum of 120 credit hours to earn your Bachelor of Science in General Business from UNT. You’ll undertake 42 core hours, 24 pre-business and professional development hours, 36 advanced business hours, and 15-18 elective hours to achieve your goal.

You will have a dedicated advisor to help you navigate course load. You may earn as many as 9 credit hours during each 8 week session (3 classes). Fall and Spring semesters have two 8 week sessions. The summer semester has one 8 week session that is available for current students in the program.

Yes. There's an application fee of $75 for domestic applicants and $85 for international applicants. Returning UNT students do not need to pay the application fee, but instead apply as a readmit. Learn more Please see these updated instructions on how to pay your application fee.

Yes! As a UNT student, you will have the option to come to campus to celebrate in-person. If you are unable to attend in person, there will be a virtual recognition ceremony to honor our graduates.

Under certain circumstances, it is possible to transfer from the online program to the on-campus counterpart. You can meet with an advisor to learn more. Please note that international students in this fully online program are not eligible for a student visa to study within the United States.

Yes, UNT students can request a UNT student ID card.

Yes, you can use your student ID card to access on-campus facilities. Some services, such as the Recreational Center, may require additional fees.

Yes, you may participate in the Ryan College of Business mentor program, as well as virtual Career Center events and workshops. You will also have the opportunity to connect with your peers through communication channels in the UNT Virtual Community.
