In November 2022, the artificial intelligence (AI) tool ChatGPT launched with the primary purpose of enhancing natural language processing tasks like language translation, text summarization, and text generation. Within the first week of it’s release, ChatGPT quickly gained widespread attention in the media and attracted over one million users from all over the world. However, soon after its launch, concerns regarding the ethical implications of ChatGPT's usage began to emerge, particularly in education. As the use of ChatGPT becomes more widespread, there is an acute need for awareness and dialogue across all communities. The goal of the Teach-Out is to bring diverse perspectives of both experts and learners together for rich and thoughtful discourse.
