Cathy Clark has helped define and build the fields of impact investing and social entrepreneurship for more than 30 years. She is Faculty Director of the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, where she founded and leads the CASE i3 Initiative on Impact Investing. In 2020, the Schwab Foundation and World Economic Forum named her Social Innovation Thought Leader of the Year. Cathy is co-author of the #ScalingPathways series, produced with the Skoll Foundation, USAID's Global Development Lab, and Mercy Corps. She co-led the Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator at Duke (SEAD), which helped global health ventures in India and East Africa scale their impact. In 2007, she helped create the standards for B Corporations. She was the sole academic member of the US National Advisory Board to the G8 Social Impact Investment Taskforce, and was invited by the Obama White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Engagement to track $2.5 billion in new impact investments. She is co-author of The Impact Investor: Lessons in Leadership and Strategy for Collaborative Capitalism and has published more than 25 books, articles, and case studies. On Coursera, she teaches Impact Measurement & Management for the SDGs and the Raising Impact Capital specialization. She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from the University of Virginia.
