Vatsalya Srivastava is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy. He is the Lead Advisor at AFC India Ltd. (formerly Agricultural Finance Corporation Ltd.), a deemed government consulting organization, to monitor and evaluate socio-economic development projects. With a B.A. (Hons) degree in Economics from Kirori Mal College (University of Delhi), he also has M.Sc. (Cum Laude) in Economics (Resources, Development, and Growth) and a Research Masters (Distinction) in Economics from Tilburg University in the Netherlands. The submission of his Ph.D. dissertation is also in progress at the same university. He received generous scholarships from Tilburg University (Tilburg University Scholarship Program and Koopman’s Scholarship) and from ETS (TOEFL Scholar) to attend these programs. His research interests lie in using the tools of Microeconomics, particularly Game Theory, to understand better how societies organize themselves. His ambition is to develop an economic paradigm to investigate the incentives and trade-offs that underlie the social, legal, and political institutions that create and maintain what Oliver Williamson called good order and workable arrangements.
