Eunmi (Jina) Kim is a research associate professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), specializing in meditation with over 20 years of experience. Jina's approach to integrating mindfulness with science and education is unique. Jina has collaborated with the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a Harvard Medical Teaching Hospital, for several years, conducting neuroscience research on mindfulness and compassion. Through CHA, Jina has taught online meditation, providing wider access to mindfulness practices for individuals who may not have access to in-person classes. Jina has completed several meditation training programs, including courses at the Pa-auk Tawya Meditation Center in Myanmar, which focused on developing the nimitta, a visual object of meditation that is essential in progressing through the Jhana states in both samatha and vipassana practices. Jina is a qualified teacher of several mindfulness programs, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). Jina has facilitated mindfulness courses for KAIST students and online learners, demonstrating her ability to communicate effectively and engage with individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of mindfulness.
