Akiko Iida received her Ph.D. in urban engineering from The University of Tokyo. She worked as a JSPS Research Fellow from 2012 and an assistant professor from 2013 at The University of Tokyo before assuming his current position. Her academic interests include landscape planning, urban ecology, green infrastructure, urban food system, and circular city. As an urbanist, she also works with governments and communities on various urban planning and design projects.
